JOB TITLE: BBB Teen / Apprenticeship Specialist ($11.72 per hour)
(Days 200 - School year up to 3 hours)

Position Title: Teen Specialist
Engage and inspire young people to learn and grow into responsible adults. Oversee the center's core programs by planning, developing, and implementing programs and activities that support the organization's standards. Monitor and evaluate situations quickly, using good judgment to assess conditions and make decisions. Create and maintain a safe environment for members and adults within the program space. Communicate with parents as necessary regarding behavior issues and Center events.
Responsibilities
- Learn and implement nationally recognized and local cumulus programs while promoting and stimulating program participation.
- Provide supervision, guidance, and act as role models
- Monitor programs, services, and activities to ensure the safety of all students and staff
- Flexibility when changes need to be made and dealing with a variety of situations
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the program area
- Attend staff meetings and follow procedures
- Willingness to meet educational requirements

Qualifications
- Experience working with children preferred
- Knowledge of youth development
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
- Ability to deal with the general public
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
- Attend ALL staff meetings and special training for employees
- All staff participate in special programs and events
- Complete all training hours as required

Physical Requirements: Helping members grow, learn, and gain new skills can be rewarding. The work is sometimes routine, but new activities and challenges mark each day. Youth development can be physically and emotionally taxing, as workers constantly stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift (25 pounds frequently) to attend to each member's interests and problems.
All employees working at a school-based center location are expected to follow the calendar year of the Barren County School District. Therefore, when the school is not in operation, you will only have work if specified by your supervisor.
