JOB TITLE: DIGITAL LEARNING COACH 

DEPARTMENT: INSTRUCTION 

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTION

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Must have no convictions of a felony or past criminal history, be in good health as evidenced by completion of a physical examination as prescribed by the Board.  Must be of good character and moral behavior; minimum three years teaching experience required; valid Kentucky teaching certificate; Master's degree preferred in one of the following areas: Instructional Technology, Library Media Sciences,  Curriculum/Instruction, or Educational Leadership.

 

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Experience in with creation of web pages, web authoring, and internet applications.
  • Experience with providing professional learning and training both students and adults
  • Ability to relate technological issues to non-technical users
  • Leadership experience such as planning professional development programs, directing the work of a committee or council, evaluating a program, administrative experience with developing and administering a budget, preparing letters, newsletters and other communications, completing paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, documenting work and evaluating a program
  • Curriculum knowledge of academic needs (KAS) and appropriate technology standards
  • Materials, resources, and strategies for high quality professional development and instruction.
  • Ability to develop standard-based lessons and activities.
  • Ability to model effective teaching strategies while integrating technology.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Routine work habits that exemplify teamwork, productivity, initiative, commitment and flexibility

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports and assists implementing district initiatives, CSIPs, and CDIPs.
  • Collaborates on the design and implementation of the district's Ed Tech Plan.
  • Serves as a resource for the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP).
  • Supports the selection and use of high-quality instructional resources.
  • Consults on curriculum planning to integrate technology.
  • Supports initiatives for  nontraditional instruction, distance learning, and career development (ILP).
  • Works closely with district leaders and the Principal to implement and help share the vision of how technology will be implemented in the classroom.
  • Assists teachers in maximizing the effective use of technology for learning, differentiating instruction, and providing rigorous, relevant, and engaging learning experiences for all students.
  • Provides a vital real time professional learning role for district-by-district (or school-by-school) customized digital learning strategies tied to structured learning experience design, digital workflow, digital relationship, digital collaboration and student-designed digital products.  
  • Looks for the latest insights and strategies on instructional technologies, personalized learning materials and pedagogical methods to mentor and coach educators

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work with all schools, including the College Street Center and BAVEL
  • Will be required to complete all required training and attend professional learning  sessions.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a timely manner. 
  • Consistently displays self-control with parents, students and school personnel.
  • Maintain a clean workstation (desk, office, etc.) and do maintenance as needed.
  • Be clean, neat and appropriately dressed. 
  • Be consistently responsible and display an attitude of honesty and credibility.
  • Show enthusiasm, interest and concern for the total program and its efficient operation.
  • Maintains student control.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner at all times. 
  • Demonstrate positive behavior toward the purposes and goals of the Barren County Schools.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance. 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. Work year is comprised of 185 school days and extended days as designated by board policy.
  2. Salary commensurate with adopted certified personnel salary schedule.
  3. Sick leave and personal leave provided as stated in board policy.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
