DESCRIPTION: Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Barren County and Glasgow Independent Schools to create a “Work Ethics Certification” program to meet the demands of the current workforce needs.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Must have no convictions of a felony or past criminal history, be in good health as evidenced by completion of a physical examination and drug testing as prescribed many local employers. Must be of good character and moral behavior. Must be on target to graduate from high school diploma or a GED certificate and a valid Kentucky driver’s license; must complete the online application and upload resume to be considered for the interview process.
CRITICAL SKILL/EXPERTISE REQUIRED:
Demonstrate and provide proof of the following:
- Student attendance at school and class on a consistent basis.
- Student shows responsibility and accountability.
- Student earns a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Student has completed community service projects or volunteer work.
- Student must fully complete the online application and attach a resume using the School Recruiter.
- Student must be involved in one of the following: organized sports team, extra-curricular activity or program, and/or part time employment of 10 hours per week for 4 consecutive months during the school year or a minimum of 20 hours per week during summer months.
- Student must earn a minimum of 24 points to be granted an interview to complete the certification process.
